    Thank you!

Date isn't set yet, it will depend how fast people leave the team, everything has to be 'in place' by 1st April, but they are expecting things to roll a lot faster as people find other internal and external roles, some of our northern teams are already down to just 3 people.

I am already doing some overtime which has been guaranteed for 3 months, so I would like it to follow straight on, if possible. I will ask closer to the time. If the team drops quickly then they will change right away which is fine as I have childcare lined up due to the overtime.

They had to announce it quickly, as we had applied for other jobs, other managers were holding off arranging interviews. They done the right thing, people were very very upset so they at least had some time at home to digest the news and come in today feeling a little less raw.

I am so very excited! I felt like this all day today bliss.gif

Nothing spent today, brought bread in with me and had left some butter & chicken slices at work which was good. I have some left for tomorrow so hopefully another NSD.

I am looking forward to the weekend so much, I have neglected things the past few weeks since being so distracted by the things going on at work I just wanted to sleep as soon as I got DD to bed. So after MOT on Saturday we are going to raid our wardrobes see what can be taken to the charity shops, then we will get the dusters out, clear the ironing pile and just get everything in order. Well that's the plan....:)

MOT done, no extra work needed or advisory thank goodness!

£4.19 picking up some bottled water, bread, tomatoes, cucumber and chocolate.

Yesterday we treated ourselves to pizza, supermarket pizza of course! A new waitrose opened near my work, I rarely shop in waitrose but it looked bigger than usual so I popped in on the off chance we could find mint drinking syrup.

Its a French equivalent to 'sqash' but syrup based and the mint one is amazing its been my favourite drink since childhood. They had grenadine flavour which we already have, they didn't stock mint and we walked out with a pizza instead:rotfl: Still it was nice not to have to cook, I was tired after a busy week.

Lots of house work to get through so I better get started before I spend all day reading through diaries!

Thank you everyone! I know the change isn't immediate but I am very excited now.

Busy day today. I started by asking my DD to clear the things off her floor so I could hoover, and saw her just shoving things under her bed. So I pulled it all out and spent 2 hours, reorganising and filling 2 black sacks.

Then due to the horrible weather we have had I decided the tumble drier could no longer stay in the cupboard under the stairs, so pulled that out into the kitchen but had to move our dinning table back into our living room to make space.

It feels small in the living room now but it wont be so bad as the kitchen is very cold in the winter.

Doing all of this I decided I could do with those plastic drawers to keep under the stairs for things that have no place or overflow fruit juice cartons. I also wanted some of those gel type things that sucks up moisture. My car window is starting to be wet inside in the mornings which adds a good 5 minutes clearing it up, even longer when it freezes inside and they came recommended. So I headed of to a big Mr T Extra. No drawers. No moisture 'suckers'.
Instead I came out with two bags of things for £31, mainly things that are non essential, shake & vac, scented plug ins, wipes etc.

I did just because I knocked a box of the shelf pick up a box of tumble dryer wipes, and after reading the back put them in the trolley too. Last winter I had constant electric shocks at work they became very painful. I couldn't work out if it was my clothes, my coat or what. Perhaps a mixture of that & the heaters at work? Either way that's one purchase I'm hoping I wont regret.....and to be honest my home does smell quite nice right now!

3 more days till school starts DD is very excited.

I am a little stressed. Evenings will once again become a blur of traffic, dinner, homework, bath, bed & repeat x 5. I honestly don't know how people with more than one child do it. 8 o'clock arrives I finally stop for the day and am normally more than ready for bed!

So I decided I'm going to try and be a little more organised. I've moved one chair in the kitchen, DD will sit and read to me whilst I cook.
I have meal plan's of meals that take no longer than 20 minutes to prepare and have a minimum of 2 cheat nights, ie oven food!
Bath's will be showers wherever possible - fine for me more persuasion needed for DD.
Non iron clothes - where possible.

Most of the above is just to save time, we are both big sleepers and need to have slept well if we are to be up and out by 7.45 each day.

Urg I am not looking forward to it :(

You'll be fine, you adapt to a routine over time and there will be times when you don't but you have those cheat nights. Batch cook as well, so it's defrost and heat up.

Thank you I'm sure we will. I think it might take a few weeks to settle back in, I used to work monday-wednesday and thursday was always the hardest day to wake DD up on so I know it will be hard to start with. Yes I will have to start batch cooking I seem to have fallen out of the habit!

We have to take our car to the garage tomorrow, with the heavy rainfall some of it has managed to get into the drivers footwell, coming in near the brake pedal, I'm not sure if its a sealant issue or leaves clogging up a drainage hole. Thankfully no parts should be needed, but labour wise could be a bit of a hit unless they spot the problem right away! I suspect I will have to use some of my new home funds to cover it. I did have a good go at trying to spot any blockages but zilch!

The garage used to be near the next train station which was so handy when they needed it for a while, as it was only 1 stop £2.85 from home. They have since merged with another garage, which although in the same town, its on an industrial estate with no easy way to get back to the station which is a PITA.

Having googled I could walk part of the way, then get a bus to the station then train to home. This however will cost £9 return.
There is a McDonalds about 20 minutes walk away with a park attached to it. I so I am hoping if they say 2 -3 hours and its at least dry out, I can take DD to the park, and if we have to we can pop into McD's for a snack/warm drink before heading back to the garage.

If they want me to leave it there all day however we will have to go home and come back later. I have requested a local garage to quote, but I suspect it will be more than the train & bus combined.

On the plus side my tomato plant has produced approx 20 cherry toms, fully grown now so they are in the kitchen ripening. There are many more on the plant, so I hope I can remove them from the next few weeks bills. The tomato plants were free, my director brought in a huge amount and everyone had 2-3 each to take home. I did have to by some supports when they got big so I probably wont have saved at all this summer, but the bloomed late. Next Spring / Summer I shall we well prepared!

I'm pretty sure we can get by this week with whats in the freezer, I've set aside £5 for bread, milk and fruit. Scrub that - we need to get by this week, the less I take out of the moving fund the better!

I had £36 left in my grocery / petrol shop fund which was going to go towards christmas but for now I've transferred £20 back over to my current account. Every little helps!

  • Managed to get home from garage, had a little bit further to walk but it was £4.80 return for both of us.

Just had a call from garage, it is the bulkhead that has cracked and needs replacing so total damage £249 4fvgdaq_th.gif

I've transferred money from emergency fund and moving fund and some from Christmas trying to leave a little in each to keep me going.

On a plus note the car wont be ready til 6ish so they have offered to drop it off home and I can pay over the phone. Wish I had asked beforehand I could have saved some pennies on the bus fare!

Pay day in 2 weeks 2 days, so fingers crossed with the overtime I will be able to make some repayments to those accounts I borrowed from.

Whilst I am feeling a bit down about it, I did breathe a sigh of relief that it was doable and it could easily have been a lot worse if water had damaged electrics etc.

It also reminded me that 2 ish years ago I would have gone into complete meltdown, and although it was a very small savings pot at least it was there for me to turn to.

    **touch wood no more emergencies**
