60th birthday...help

Hi guys and gals, I hope you can help.

It's my dad's 60th this year and I've been stuck for ideas on a present for him, I can't do the newspaper front pages for each year of his birthday as he was born on the 25th December and apparently no papers are published on that day!

I found on Pinterest an idea which is 60 facts for 60 years. I don't know whether to do 60 headlines from national papers or just 60 random facts facts from around the world for 1955 (which would be mainly from the UK and the USA.) I obviously won't be able to by 60 presents for each fact as some are pretty grim, my relatives have kindly offered to chip in and help with the costs / gifts.

Gift examples would be Churchill resigning - a coin with Churchill on it,
Jim Henson created Kermit the frog
- a figure of Kermit, coca-cola first sold in cans - can of coke etc!

Has anyone done this as a present before? How did you do it and am I biting off more than I can chew?

Any suggestions/advice welcome

The number one UK chart single over Christmas 1955 was Dickie Valentine with Christmas Alphabet. I've just had a quick look on a certain well known online auction site and there are several copies of the original single available, starting at £2 plus postage. Maybe you could even buy a clock mechanism and turn it into a clock (it's really easy to do).
