Nationwide timescale (online application)

Hi, We had a DIP with nationwide and yesterday we have submitted our full application with property, solicitor, and other details etc online on the nationwide's website. We were given a reference number and cover sheet with list of required documents to post. We have posted the documents by special delivery today.

Any ideas?

How long is a piece of string?

Nationwide mortgage 2,5 years ago when through like a steam train, this time round I'm still waiting after nearly 7 weeks due to a multitude of internal hiccups on their side. They lost me due to a computer crash, had to internally redo the application/underwriting which took them 3 weeks and now their chosen surveyor has come up with a totally unrealistic price.

After some queries, it seems the idiot valued the wrong house (new build, seems he valued to smaller 3-bed property next to the plot I'm trying to buy). After all this, I've decided not to even bother contesting the valuation, just going to go apply for a mortgage elsewhere.

Funny thing is, when the valuation was initially done, Nationwide said it had come back fine. 3 weeks later and they suddenly tell us they're ready to give us the mortgage offer, but the surveyor has down valued the property by 12k, shrug...
