Conversion Fee?

Hi All
Im after your help!
We have had number of mortgages with C & G and whilst sorting through our paperwork we came across our mortgage statements for are first home in 2004. We noticed that for the 3 years of the mortgage, each year in October we were charged a conversion fee! It was £499 the first year and £995 the subsequent two years!
This charge didnt appear on any of our subsequent remortgages with C & G and can find any information as to what it was for or why we had to pay it!
Can anyone shed any light?
Thanks so much
Kat

  • I've no idea what the charge is but you should find mention of it in your original mortgage documents

Seems very late in the day to be querying this - 10 years too late.
  • Although the original mortgage was taken out in 2004 these fees were added in 2006, 2007 and 2008!
Our financial advisor at the time has now been barred from selling financial products by the FSA and they have advised us to check all products we were sold through him!
That's why we are going back through all our old paperwork!
