Costs more to pay with Boots advantage points?

Hi,
I wasn't too sure which board to post this in, sorry if it's the wrong one!
I've managed to save £102 in Boots Advantage Card points and decided to buy a few things on the website with them as I'm a little short on cash at the moment... Anyway, the total after some offers is £35.95, but if I want to pay with points it is 4,893 points. So £48.93 in points.
I'd already read that you can't collect points or get any points offers when paying with points, but I didn't realise they also don't apply to 3 for 2 offers etc. This means that you pay the full price if you want to use your points. (I added up the total minus the offers and it did come to £48.93)
Does anyone know if this is the same in store, or just online?

I have paid online with points before. When you go all the way through the checkout it eventually reduces to the correct total so you do pay the correct discounted amount.0
