Wheelie bins storage fees claim

Not sure where to place this thread.

As my local council ( Rochdale ) has now given me a grand total of 5 Wheelie bins and admit they are the legal owners i ask this

Can i ask for a reduction on my poll tax for the storage of 5 bins as i feel this amount of bins is ridiculous.

They won't take any back by the way so i am stuck with them.

Here's the story then but i now realise i have 6 bins and not 5.

Moved into the house in March 2004, previous occupiers never took the wheelie bin and i asked the council for one as the previous occupiers said they would come round and collect theirs later, but they never did.

    Total number = 2

Then the bin men dropped off a smaller size one because there were 4 people living at the house, i never asked for this extra bin.

    Total Number = 3

Next they decided to drop off a brown one for grass cuttings etc.

    Total Number = 4

Finally the council drop off 2 brand new recycling ones of which 1 only gets emptied once every 2 weeks as i cannot fill the other, i don't create enough recycling refuse, so it currently stands with the others all lined up like soldiers.

    Grand Total = 6 bins

I have requested they either reduce the amount i have or i want a reduction of some sorts on my poll tax as i have more bins than the council depot lol

Just use them like the rest of us do, think of the environment.

Sounds like you only have one more than you are entitled to, and you requested that one. Some areas do have more than others - there are only two people in my parents house and they have three plus a blue box!

Firstly, you don't pay poll tax. As a four person household you would know about it if you did!

Secondly, why should you get a reduction for the council doing their job properly? Most people would be posting this on the 5 Star Service Board!
    Gone ... or have I?

Firstly...What do you mean i don't pay poll tax, don't talk utter rubbish ( no pun intended ) i pay £117.00 per month council tax, or am i imagining it ?

Secondly... I dont want 6 bins cluttering up my path, and don't get me going on council doing their job properly, waste of time Rochdale council, personally i would SACK the lot of them and get in a private contracor to do the lot, then these idle sods who go to work ( and i use the term Work loosley ) in their slippers would wake up and realise what the real world is like without the cushion of workingfor the council seems to bring.

Thirdly... I feel i SHOULD get a reduction as i pay for a wheelie bin cleaner chap to clean them out and they are not even mine, yet the council insists i must maintain them ?

No you don't pay poll tax you pay council tax.
To see why we don't have a poll tax read this:-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poll_tax_riots
Why do you pay someone to clean them?
Just leave the ones you don't require out on the street some one will soon have them away;)

    Hy
I had thought of chopping them up and sending them away for recycling in the recycle bin. However i am off to the pub tonight so i will take one with me and leave it outside someone elses house, at least i will be one down.
    Cheers
