I get peeved off with the "oops we made a mistake" ......... have free delivery or have 10% off.

I am sure they do it on purpose.

I would imagine it is us, Blulu.

The promotor does have the option of getting the comp blocked from MSE by just getiing in touch with MSE admin.

Hopefully they will do so & the second comp will not be "spammed".

People in Brent have got (quite rightly) annoyed about a nationwide competition with a prize paid for by a local council - out of their council tax money.

That's what has prompted the change.

I'd be quite narked to think my money meant for local services and the area I live in was being spent on a new bike for a guy in the Midlands.

Council is at fault. Should have thought about it before they opened it to everyone.

It's just the idiots at Brent council who didn't realise that it is the WORLD WIDE Web and deliberately misled everyone by originally specifying the comp was UK wide in their T&C. The evidence is below (from google cache) if anybody wants to stick it to them directly or take it up with the ASA.

I live in a different London borough and I checked the Ts and Cs before I entered.
If they can't even run a competition properly, how on earth are they running their council ?!?!

Nothing in their terms originally stated you had to live in Brent and so i would have thought highly irregular that because lots of entries came from outside Brent they can just disregard entries and start again.
