So we had an exchange date with bellway for 14th of august. Everything is sorted mortgage offer etc we have the deposit paid the fees we needed to to solicitors etc however were still waiting to exchange should we be chasing them or just leave them to it? They are aware of the dates etc and we're recommended by bellway and since our house isn't due to be built until March I'm not sure if we need to chase or not?

Appears to be no rush. Probably the summer holidays have caused matters to grind to a halt.0

hope so, as long as it wont affect our application. we are first time buyers so not sure about the whole process and we have just been going with the flow and expected it all to be signed by 14th. Didnt expect a delay in the process but i assume with bellway reccomending them and we provided all the info required that theres not much more we can do and bellway will be aware of the process etc and wont backing out ha0

We had to constantly chase our solicitors at some stages. At one point the bank and I were getting more done than the solicitor it seemed. At the end of the day you're paying them so you're well within you're rights to chase as much as you feel is reasonable.0

Yep, we had to chase solicitors on our new build to exchange.0

Yeah if we dont hear back soon ill contact them. I like to be kept up to date like, especially since weve given them money etc. Im not looking for daily updates but when the deadline they know about has passed it would be nice to get some idea of whats going on.0

Developers set short time frames to discourage time wasters. If every is moving along then you'll encounter no problems.0

I had to chase my solicitors every day at one point to ensure completion stays on time, often chasing up lenders and vendors myself."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

How long does the mortgage offer last for?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
