Pasta Express

Hi there, I had this tip from a cook years ago. Bring the pasta water to the boil, add the pasta, re boil, then turn off heat, and leave the pasta for the time the pack says to cook it. Usually it's done perfectly, but anyway you could always boil a couple more minutes. Saves power, and you don't have to watch it. And never ever add olive oil to a cooking pan of pasta to stop it boiling over (old wives' tale). It's a waste of oil, and you just need to follow the above instruction. Buon appetito!:)0

In bog standard hangover-proof instructions this is what you do with pasta...
Get a big pan, put water in it.
Put a bit of salt and a teaspoon (ish) of cooking oil in the water.
Boil it.
When it's boiling lob in one big handful of pasta per person eating it.
Read the packet see how long you're meant to cook it for.
Look at the clock, count when you're meant to take it off the heat.
Stir it once or twice in the mean time and turn the heat down if it's vigarous, it wants to be at a simmer really not a boil.
When it's time bung the collander in the sink and pour the pasta/water in.
Ta Daaaa you have pasta (in the collander).
If you thought ahead you might have warmed up half a jar of pasta sauce in the microwave while it was on the boil too, if not no worries, plain carbs are entirely suitable for hangover cuisine I find!I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.
