Mortgages How far back do they check?

Why are you trying to make it out like its something it isnt?
They knew as did the uncle he was getting that money back. Had that money not be paid there would have been a few words said.
The mortgage is through and there were no issues so why try and hide what it was?
If you take the money from your dad as a gift but know full well you are paying it back you should be declaring it otherwise it is mortgage fraud. You are very unlikely to get found out, but if you do you end up on the lenders naughty list (google hunter system) and will find it difficult getting a mortgage in the future.
The risk is there, your aware of it. Its down to you to make that choice.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I'm not hiding anything, just explaining that the are ways around the issue the OP has, should they wish to take the minute risk you have mentioned.
Thankfully, I was myself, not in such a situation.0 -
There is another way around it
Put as much of your expenses on a 0% card as you can, and then you can save your deposit and your deposit is therefore funded from savings.
Your affordability may be an issue if repaying a credit card and depending on how closely they review bank statements etc they may pick up on this.
You would of course have to declare the credit card when applying for the mortgage.Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0
