Ive won a competition which has requested an id number along with other details they want from me. After looking through the T&C's for the competition it states Ni number so presume its this.
Just wondered is it safe to give that number out? and has anyone else done this?
TIA for any info :j

Personally I wouldn't give my NI number out, with that your name and date of birth I'd imagine thats all they would need to commit identity fraud. What company/competition is itYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I would be careful. Very careful. I can not think of a reason that a legitimate ( unless you have won a bucket load of cash ) where a company would need all of that information?Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0

one of the comps posted today for a camera states in T&Cs they may ask for NI number

The potential prize winner will be contacted by e-mail, and will be required to satisfactorily complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Liability/Publicity Release/Proof of Age (“Affidavit”), unless prohibited by law. The Affidavit must be returned within five (5) days of provision of the document. In completing the Affidavit the potential winner may be required to provide his/her National Insurance Number or other identification. Potential prize winner may be required to send copies of his/her passport, driver’s license, birth certificate or other appropriate documentation (acceptable to Sponsor) as proof of age and residency. Non-compliance with any of these requirements will result in disqualification, forfeiture of the prize and the selection of an alternate winner.0 -
Thanks for replies. The competition is the Mango one to win a skate Deck T&C's are http://st.mngbcn.com/web/i/skatecontest/bases/bases_in.pdf
The email does say this Also:
"We will send the skate deck illustrated by Christopher David Ryan as soon as we receive your full address."
Which Makes me think that a name and address would suffice. :S:T0 -
it asks for your national id document eg a pic of your passport where you can block out your passport number etcYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
