Santander offers me Rapport but it's already installed

Our libraries don't have Trusteer Rapport installed, so when I log into Santander a window always comes up offering it. I had cause to view the login page on my home PC today, and noticed that this window still came up, even though a couple of Rapport programs are showing in my processes on Task Manager. Is it possible that hackers could have replaced my genuine Rapport with something pretending to be it?

Don't install RAPPORT - It is problematic to say the least
Nationwide tried to get me to use it a few years ago - I had problems uninstalling it...
It bears similarities to a PUA
As long as you have a decent antivirus and have your firewall enabled - and also use an antimalware program (such as Malwarebytes) - you should be safe
Why do these banks try to get us to use RAPPORT ?

There's surely no possibility whatever that they could get a rake-off from Trusteer?

Yes. Agree with all the above. It has little, if any, redeeming features. And a horlix to get rid of when it gets corrupted.

Horrible piece of rubbish. Have nothing to do with it. Even when getting rid of it if you are persuaded to install it the procedure is protracted and you are pestered no end.

After reading this forum, I got rid of it a few years back. I actually installed as the bank insisted, by putting the pop up every time I went on the site. I do remember someone asking if they got hacked would Santander, Rapport reimburse them. NO.
