bank arrestment

Hi
I'm a little incredulous at this thread tbh.
1. You owe Council Tax, and have ignored all correspondence 'for years' but are surprised that the debt has accrued interest/fees?
2. You now have, through no efforts of your own, received a large sum of money as an inheritance, but rather than pay your debts to the Council, you want the rest of the world to pay for your share of council services while you buy a house?
3. Because you have a poor credit record, CCJs etc, you intend to circumvent lenders' caution, by buying your house in your ex-husband's name.
4. You seriously think that, morally, the Council where you lived should effectively pay for your house deposit on the promise that you might pay them back one day (despite your track record)?
I think you should be grateful you received an inheritance, to pay off your debts, and save the money for the deposit.
After all, you had budgeted to repay what you owe anyway - so you are no worse off - right?

also have you been saving a deposit?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Having worked at Scott & Co, once they have the money, it's gone. They don't have the power to "freeze" bank accounts, but when you setup a payment plan they would have casually asked who you banked with and that's all it takes. Once the money has been arrested t here is no way to get it back.0
