How long til money is paid?

My ex has had to remortgage to pay me a large sum of money (ordered by the Courts). He has applied, been sent the mortgage offer, signed and returned it and it is now just waiting to be paid. What is the usual amount of time that this would take? This has dragged on and on and on and I just want my money to be honest, I have waited for almost 8 years for it and it is so close now! Just wondered if there was any chance it could still fall through even though everybody has signed and it is just waiting for payment?

So even though this is a remortgage and no moving house or anything, what could go wrong to prevent the money being paid out?

I don't know but it was faxed to the Child Support Agency on Wednesday as evidence. The lender knew in advance that the money was required to clear the charges put on the property by the CSA and so this wouldn't be a reason to not pay. The offer took absolutely ages to come through as they were waiting for extra info from my ex. Once they had that, then the offer went ahead and was signed and returned. It will have been probably in the last week.
