Don't you dare criticise what you cannot understand
  • I have a toshiba laptop - was in the process of reinstalling windows following a hard disk failure, when suddenly laptop just died. Laptop refused to turn on. I was so annoyed having fitted the hd and got to part way installing windows.
Nothing I did would turn the laptop on.

then I removed the battery AND the power lead. Held the power button for over 5 minutes, then pumped the power button for like ever, connected the power cord - no joy.
Repeated and I could not believe it but it came on the second time I added the power cord.

That was 3 months and the laptop is still going strong.

Unless someone was having fun programming a reset sequence like that, I suspect a dodgy connection or pin in the power input socket.

Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.
