Mortgage insurance advice

So I'm guessing the standard advice of "speak to your broker" stands here, but I'd be interested in other people's opinions first.
What would peoples advice be in regard to what insurance would be appropriate for a first time mortgage in my situation.
I'm 35, separated, and have 2 kids (eldest being step-son) who are resident with their mum but spend approx three nights a week with me. My salary is 36k with 6 months full and 6 month half sick pay. I have a death in service assurance of 6 x salary so 216k. My mortgage debt will be 114k.
I'm thinking life insurance isn't relevant as I have no immediate dependants (with them being resident with their mum), and obviously good death in service cover which more than meets the mortgage, should they decide to pay it off or just take the money. I'm not sure about accident/sickness cover as I'mn or sure they pay out much more than company sickness pay. I need to confirm my redundancy terms but even if just statutory levels will be about 8.5k whilst I seek further employment.
So I'm guessing anything I get would need to better each of those levels. Are their products that do that? And are they really appropriate given my circumstances?
Thanks
