Next / Fuel Saver / Morrisons

Options
Mrs quite often shops at Next.co.uk and is always first inline to view the sales at Next. (As she did most recently last month)

The Next statement came through, and was just about to pay when I noticed that you could also pay using Next gift cards... Which got me thinking...

Following day I called at Morrisons supermarket and enquired about the fuel saver they do with gift cards as I had heard of it but never looked into it. They said that for every £10 voucher I buy I save 1p of a litre of petrol.

I then bought 2x £100 vouchers gaining 20p of litre of petrol and used the gift cards to pay off Next statement. (Using cash back credit card to get cash back at Morrisons)

This little stunt saved me almost £15 at the petrol station by simply paying the Next statement in a different way... Thought I'd pass on my saving tip. Hope it helps :-) (in the grand schemes of things it's almost 7.5% of at Next doing it this way... And Morrisons do loads of gift cards!

hi do this in Tesco for next as every £50 you get £1.50 club card points which you can boost but it also counts towards your petrol save.
  • Hi.. I usually do this but forgot this time... Thanks for the reminder :)
  • Hi

I need to pay the remaining balance of my Thomson holiday - I noticed Morrisons also do travel cards

Has anyone paid of a Thomson holiday with a travel card?

    My thinking is...remaining balance £600

I use a credit card to earn cash back to buy vouchers, and get 60p of a litre of fuel at the same time? Clear my credit card with the money I had to one side to pay of holiday in first place?

Win win or am I missing something?
