Plastering qualification

My son (aged 28) wants to retrain as a plasterer but is too old for any apprenticeship courses. He has his cscs but doesn't know how to get any training as a plasterer. He is currently looking for work and I am prepared to fund a short course so he can have some proper training and may make some useful contacts. He is in Manchester, does any one know of some short courses he could do. I know that there are some 5-10 day courses available but are they any good? Don't want to waste any money

If he is currently looking for work, he could try being a plaster's mate on day rates. Probably worth doing that for a little while to get a head start before taking a course.0
