I was selling my house to a buyer who applied for a mortgage through Nationwide Building Society.
On the day we were due to Exchange and Complete the Underwriters called in the mortgage for Review and Exchange and Completion was unable to go ahead.
I have now lost the house I am buying as have the people I am buying from and there is absolutely nothing I/we can do.
I have put my property back on the market and my buyer is applying for another mortgage, from another Building Society through his broker.
Thanks to Nationwide I am unable to move into my house tomorrow please do not deal with this company they take ages to process and if they play this sort of game then its not worth the heart ache.

Nationwide is one or the biggest lenders in the country. I'm sorry you've had a bad experience but I highly doubt everyone is going to boycott them in sympathy.

Why has the chain collapsed rather than been delayed? Have your vendors lost faith in you as proceedable?

It is possible to get a mortgage through in less than 2 weeks. If all other searches and conveyancing is already done, this is going to be a lot quicker for your vendors and your vendors vendors than starting from scratch with new buyers.

Have you kept communication open with them and can go back if/when your buyers get a mortgage?
