PPI for life policy on Northern Rock mortgage

Hi,
I have a pre-existing medical condition and I was sold a life/accident/sickness/redundancy policy by a broker when I took out my Northern Rock mortgage. I have now seen the light and made different arrangements, but wonder whether I could have made a claim anyway given my medical condition (I've twice been refused an insurance claim because of it) and therefore whether it was missold.
I'm not sure what is the position given the involvement of a broker, and indeed whether the policy came as a package with Northern Rock and therefore I need to check with them.
Any help would be great - thanks in advance.
Marie

Life assurance is underwritten at point of sale. That would have been fine.
Unemployment cover is not affected by health. Sickness can be depending on the condition.I'm not sure what is the position given the involvement of a broker, and indeed whether the policy came as a package with Northern Rock and therefore I need to check with them.
A broker wouldnt arrange northern rock insurance products.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
If you were sold a policy you could not claim on then you may have a valid complaint against the broker - but not the lender.0
