Morrison's "Farmer's milk"

It's 10p per litre more !0

If the farmer's milk is the one giving a fair price to the producer then they should be charging that price across the board.
They just want to seem to be doing something and will blame the shoppers when people buy the cheaper optionLost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

love the protests they have had so far , taking milk off the shelves and walking a cow into Asda
if this was france the supermarket would be on fire at the very least"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0 -
Well, the French farmers have dumped a load of manure outside the entrances of supermarkets. Setting them on fire is a bit of an exaggeration.
But I agree, the French farmers are a lot less restrained in their protestations!0 -
I won't have a decision to make yet as I don't have a Morrisons near me.
As it's not to be introduced until the autumn there's plenty of time for Morrisons (and any others that follow suit) to get bad publicity over this stunt. What infuriates me whenever there's any mention of businesses being a bit fairer and paying shop floor staff more or in this case suppliers is that what's completely sacrosanct is their profit margins!
I know profits are down in the major SMs but that's their own fault. They've been ripping us off for too long and now the worm has turned (towards Aldi and Lidl). To me, that's a positive thing to come from austerity.0 -

Completely pointless if you ask me, they would have been better off standing at the farm gate when the tanker arrived and saying "If you won't pay a fair price you won't get the milk".
Another case of spineless farmers trying to get the public to fight their fight for them.
It wouldn't take Morrisons and ASDA long to back down when they don't have milk and Tesco do.
Where else does the customer tell the seller what they are going to pay for the product and the seller agrees, even when the amount is less than the product cost them!
Might try it in Argos tomorrow, just walk in and tell them I am buying a £50 hard drive, but I'm only going to pay them £25 for it.0 -

I agree with that.
Aldi and Lidl and of course others, like Farmfoods, Iceland and even Home Bargains etc are all gaining.
But I think Aldi and Lidl are playing the tunes and the BIG 4 are doing the dancing!! For the time at least.
I know from local staff that Morrison's in my area are suffering, maninly at the expense of Aldi. Aldi have and are opening up more stores and some pretty close to Morrison's. Is that their main target??
Complacency is a thing of the past!!

Don't make me laugh. I am a farmers daughter, when my dad died my brother got 3 million and me and my sisters got nothing. They get so many government subsidies it is unreal, he gets £12,000 a year to not cut his hedges because of wildlife preservation. Farmers also get so much per hectare they own to stay in farming, my brother gets £18,000. Where I am sitting he gets £30,000 a year before he even gets out of bed. I certainly wont be buying any. No way!!!!
I think that could be some of the problems.
The stores know about these subsidies and by dictating the prices per litre of milk, they are in effect saying, "We'll have some of that".
£3m??
Reminds me of the old joke about a farmer suffering so much, he was considering selling one of his Range Rovers!!
Enough from me, have a good weekend.
Be careful in those supermarkets and make sure you don't get knocked over by cows!!

I often see expensive milk such as organic in the reduced as most customers want and buy the cheaper stuff
Expect this milk to do the same. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I get soya milk or rice milk as I dont agree with dairy farming. Male calves being killed doesnt sit easy with me.
