Applying for mortage while on sick pay

When we first applied for mortage I handed in payslips with full pay, I have since been off sick from work due an uperation and have only just returned to work. Halifax then asked for another payslip which I handed in but it only has my company sick pay on it. My mortgage advisor said paperwork had been signed off and that they were just waiting on valuation. Valuation has now been done but Halifax are saying they can't verify my wage and want another play slip but don't get paid for another 2 weeks and it still won't show full pay. Any help or advice on this would be much appreciated.

  • They haven't suggested anything. I feel so lost and in the dark about what's happening. All our other paperwork is fine it's just my income!!
  • Provided it shows returned to full time work during the period it should be acceptable

Why didn't Halifax request an employer's reference?

Why didn't the "mortgage advisor" suggest it?

Is this advisor a Halifax employee, an employee of a large chain such as a national estate agent or a small mortgage broker?

Just as the name suggests - a reference completed by your employer. It confirms details like your start date and annual salary.

Might be waiting forever. Feeling really nervous. We have had to overcome to lots of hurdles to get this far.
