So house prices wont fall for first time buyers but will fall for home owners. Confused, well not as confused as the desperate 118 landlords spouting this contradictory rubbish. If you’re a First Time Buyer …
You may see the proposed change as an opportunity, because you think it will cause house prices to drop. That may happen, but most likely not.
If you’re a Home Owner …
However as the full impact of the change hits home it could lead to Landlords selling lots of properties and therefore having a negative impact on house prices.
If prices fall enough it could lead to a lot of homeowners being trapped in that dreaded situation of negative equity and no way out.

There is an old Slovakian proverb:When the landlord is squealing then the larder shall be full.
When the landlord is smiling then the duck shall have the long neck.
It may have lost something in translation but you get the idea.0 -
Might explain why the 2 people who own a number of properties (including 3 in the development where I live) are not renewing their tenents agreements at the end of the term and are instead, serving them notices to quit before they sell the properties.Never Knowingly Understood.

I really don't have sympathy!
They have had an unfair advantage over residential buyers for too long with this tax relief.0 -

Many owner occupiers probably do not know about MIRAS either, it was 15 years ago that it ended.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0
