Ulster Bank on line banking

This morning I tried to log on from my home computer, but was told my info was wrong and took me to a page asking a LOT of info about all my accounts, including the security number on the back of my debit card, email address and DOB.
I'm almost certain I'm on the correct site, I didn't follow an email link.
Is this usual? I tried the on-line chat, but the response wasn't helpful and the chat was "Ended" before I got to ask another question.

Is it just me being paranoid?

Cheers and thanks.

davyl, I would ring their online banking helpdesk before going anywhere near the online banking page again. You can't be too careful

    Thanks for the replies.
    I think I'm sorted.
I logged in after going to their site by typing in the address to make sure I was going to a real site and got the same message.
So, filled in the info, and have got logged in OK.

I did find out that if someone enters their password wrong twice your account is automatically locked this way.
Pretty sure I didn't do this as I never do anything wrong- (yeah, right!).
My ego is going with the possibility of someone with a similar log in name (which is tied to your DOB then 4 random numbers) mistyping and trying to log in.
You can decide which version you believe!

    Thanks agin for the responses.

Just happened to me aswell and like yourself, pretty sure I didnt get my log in information wrong twice. Woudl accept some of my personal information either so now having to wait 7 days for a new password and pin. I see they have a new website and seeing as Ulster Bank doing appear very good with technology it might be linked to that. Pain.
  • Any chance you were on the ROI version? There's very little difference in the URLs or web pages:
