As I understand it... Crofting is a unique type of agricultural tenure where your activities will be monitored and approved to a certain extent by the Crofters Commission. Decrofting is when land is split from a working croft so that this scrutiny no longer applies as the land will no longer be croft land, but just a piece of land that happens to be near what remains of a croft!0 -

Nothing like that, I believe it's typically treated as one of the few ways for crofters to get their hands on a decent sum of capital relatively passively (the life of a crofter looks like damn hard work)!0

DH says he doesn't think the children will agree to a croft in Scotland. I wasn't going to ask them, frankly!
Going to do some decluttering this morning and the Plops might get a day off since DD1 is in bed feeling yuck.
We dropped our house price by 10k and nothing more to be done but wait and carry on tarting it up.0 -
