What's a fender and what's labor?
Crystal ball is on the blink I'm afraid. You might want to tell us the make model of the car!0 -

Sorry haha, by labor cost I mean the price a garage would charge me for them to fit a new fender (side of bumper, the small-ish panel above the wheel) and headlight unit.
Thanks.0 -
I believe tykesi is being somewhat of a xenophobe and picking up on your "incorrect" american spelling and phrases.
I believe you are referring to the front wing of the car. Are you providing the parts and do you want them resprayed to match the same colour (sorry color) he he of the car. If not then I wouldn't expect more than an hours labour. Most wings these days are just bolted on and the light unit is the same though you might want to get the beam checked so its not totally off if you have had a crash0 -

Thanks for the straight up reply.
And yeah, I plan on getting parts first from a scrapyard, I'm not bothered about a 'colour!' respray - I'm very financially strained at the moment so before getting quotes I thought I'd check on here as there is usually lots of helpful people.
Thanks again!0 -
If you have a ratchet and socket set or know someone who does you could attempt it yourself it might take a bit of fiddling to get the shut lines right and if you are not happy with the finish you could just take it to a garage and have them sort it. Tell them you let your wannabe panel beater cousin have a go at it and you weren't happy with it.0

I might give it a go, you said the panels are held with bolts, will I need to buy these separately also? I don't think I saw any when my old fender was broken.0 -
They are held on by bolts and they tend to sit places you can't see them such as under the bonnet and behind the door. They will only be visable when you open the door fully and look in the gap between the door and the wing. Also open the bonnet (hood) and you will see 3 or 4 along the edge of the panel there may be more in the wheel arch they can be difficult to find at first but a little time looking and pulling will root them out.0

Got ya, thanks.
Well, if I decide to just get a garage to replace the headlight and fender do you think around £200 would be suffice for the cost of labor?0 -
I don't see why not all they have to do is remove and replace the parts no painting or anything. I would say maybe half that.0

Try to get a wing / fender the same colour as yours off ebay / local breakers yard.
Its not a big job to fit one - they're plastic and bolted on. Theres just a series of bolts to find. If you google it or check youtube you'll find guides.
I've done the two wings, front bumper, and headlights on an 04 clio. Its not a difficult job, just slow0
