I'm sorry for you, we've been there, and they have been very unsympathetic.
We've opened our parachute account and are preparing to claim.0 -
The most obvious thing is to avoid being overdrawn, keep an iron clad eye on your account and spot what you are doing that is taking you overdrawn. Yes you can claim after the event but its the old fashioned thing prevention is better than the cure!0

well yea lol
we had the money in the account but my DD`s were going out at the wrong time of month
we are now getting our tax credits payed weekly to try and stop this.
and anyone know of a decent bank for a parachute account??No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
It would be cheaper for you now to look at your direct debits and cancel some for a while even gas and electric, the bank charges are so high you need to avoid being charged. You can always restart them later.
Are you falling behind on any other payments with companies because that will impact on who you choose for another bank account.0 -
With respect I dont think the Nationwide can be blamed because the direct debits went out not on the expected dates. As far as they were concerned their were insufficient funds at that moment in time to meet these items. Also it normally states when the direct debits will be taken. I know it is imperative you have funds available 24 hours before the anticipated dates.0

I sympathise emmaroids - Nationwide charge an incredible 24.9% for exceeding your overdraft limit. They also seem to charge you for the rest of the month even if you were only overdrawn for a day or two.
What about the A&L current account that Martin's recommending at the moment? - you can also get cashback through Quidco.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
Debt free success date: 14.8.2006 :j0 -
thanks for the replies peeps
do you have a link to this A&L account??No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
