Waiting decision from nationwide - anyone want to wait with me???

Before I chew of all my fingernails just wondered if anyone out there was in the same boat?
We got our dip mid July, then lost the househouse, then for it again!! Full application went in end of July. The valuation was done on the 3rd and received a text from them on the 6th to day they'd got results back. Does anyone know how long it should take now to get the official offer (eek, assuming they agree to lend to us!). Anyone want to hold my hand while I wait????

  • Hi.... Have you received you mortgage offer yet? I'm in the same boat, had valuation last Wednesday (26th August) and text that evening that the valuation would be reviewed and if any further info needed they would contact me. I haven't heard anything to date.....no idea if this is normal as I'm a FTB and applied directly. Estate agent called to see if valuation was okay and have we had the offer yet....any advice??? Thanks
  • When my wife and I bought 2 and a bit years ago we arranged our mortgage through Nationwide - The valuation held us up also!! The guy they sent out to do the valuation kept valuing it based on a leasehold with 55 years (The downstairs flat) rather than the freehold (our upstairs flat). He did this three times so Nationwide wouldn't release the funds. Got there eventually though but the company they used for valuations weren't the best!
  • Hi there - we got our DIP early July, full application on 25th August and full offer issued on 28th August. Very fast!! We're in Scotland though so I think having the home report speeds it up.
  • my sister applied last Wednesday, valuation Thursday. we called them today as she hadn't heard and they advised they would get back to her by COB Friday. The advisor said there was no problem but they were still checking payslips relating to a declared bonus.
  • Just to add I think you should call them to be sure. Therrs no reason not to the advisors are lovely.
