DRO, Marriage and joint bank account

I entered a DRO in February 2015 and my circumstance have not changed in regards to my financial situation but I have however now got married and I want to get a joint bank account with my partner. But, what banks would be willing to set up a joint bank account which is basic?

My partner is from Bangladesh and I am British

Don't get any joint credit with your DH as it will adversely affect his credit rating. Keep all finances separate until it is off your credit file.

There is a IVA&DRO board on here that might be of some help to you as well.

As above don't do it yet. It's a lot better if one of you has good credit. If you link yourself financially the person with good credit will be seen as not quite as good a credit risk any more.

What do you want the joint bank account for? You can still both have your own personal current accounts to pay bills from. You shouldn't (as you are on DRO) have much ability to save anyway so I wouldn't worry about it.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
