Do the Halifax process mortgage applications on Saturday?

Hey all,
I have submitted a full mortgage application to the Halifax and have had a valuation done on Monday. The valuation came back ok, but they contacted my mortgage broker asking me to send the original copies of certain documents before they will approve my mortgage.
I sent these documents to them yesterday using first class mail, so they should have received the documents today.
Assuming they have not had time to open the letter today or there was a delay in getting my documents to the correct person/department - I assume they will process the documents either tomorrow or Monday. (Or maybe even today , who knows!)
Anyway, does anyone know if the halifax underwriters work on Saturdays? Also, as my broker does not work Saturdays and he is likely to be informed by e-mail about my application, am I allowed to call the Halifax up on Saturday and ask for an update instead of him?
Thanks,
Dipen

The underwriters at Halifax are generally Monday to Friday, 9 to 5.
But if they are busy they might do some overtime on a Saturday.
You are allowed to phone whoever to want to phone, but if you phone Halifax on Saturday, it's too early.
Give them a chance to process the documents and let the underwriters do their thing. i don't know what the turnaround times are like these days, but let your broker do the chasing on your behalf next week if necessary.Early retired - 18th December 2014
