Morning all - everyone is having a tough week - virtual hugs to all - there is no comfort or easy solution to any of these problems, only time.
In 6 month, a year or more you will look back and realise you got through it all, not unscathed but somehow you got through it all.
I lost my dad 2 years ago at the end of September so from about mid August onwards, if I let my mind wonder I am going through and re living those last few weeks, he decided mid August he was dying and just switched off.
At the same time eldest son was getting prepped up and ready to go out to Kabul for 6 months so again I am getting echos .
But we got through it all and out the other side, older and wiser.
Mainly I just keep frantically busy, cleaning, clearing and bulb planting ...
I never did like September anyway“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
once again, Dippydoo, your post had to be deleted because it was an Amazon affiliate link.
I very recently stated, yet again, that affiliate links (including Amazon) are not allowed on MSE, and I'm getting rather tired of repeating myself when people do not take any notice. Further instances will have to be reported to the Forum Team so they can deal with any persistent posters of such links.
I'm sorry to be draconian but my gentle reminders don't seem to be listened to0 -
Morning everyone, belated birthday wishes to Naebbirac and hugs too.
Good luck everyone with hospital appointments, job interviews/trials and anything else I haven't mentioned.
I'm currently cowering in my living room listening to the sound of drills as my kitchen is getting demolished today, I just keep chanting to myself, it will be worth it, it WILL be worth it.0 -
Further to the discussion on A's new charging system, they STILL haven't taken any money at all from my bank account for my CC last Friday. and nothing is on 'hold' according to my bank.ELITE 5:2

anyway as Miranda says what else is going on in my life.
We have an appointment in B & Q this afternoon to see the bathroom team to plan the new bathroom, this sounds more exciting then its going to be.
changing the sink and loo is going to be straight forward, just want cheap and cheerful, nothing fancy.
we have a shower, just a basic cube with a sliding door. I hate the sliding door and I want a swivel door. Trouble is the shower is tucked in a corner with the window and radiator in front and the bathroom door on the other side so there is not enough of an arch to open a pivot door.
so plan 2 is a quadrant, a quarter circle with a sliding door or an oblong, neither of which I think there is room for hence the reason for the B & Q planner.
OH had a melt down instore yesterday and I don't really know why. I said to him that if he could not behave then I would call a halt to the entire thing, stick with the bathroom we have and that would be an end to it.
Firstly he complained that he did not want to pay for a survey, obviously you don't. Then he was annoyed at the length of time things get taken to be delivered - well that cant be helped. The builder has already moved his arrival dates 3 times so I don't hold out any hope of him arriving anytime soon.
Money is not the issue although I am sucking my teeth at the thought of £200 for tiles, £100 for a loo and sink, £500 for a shower which might just end up with an updated version of what we already have ...
The other big problem is the tiles. I wanted the oblong ones that looked like wood but Oh said they would be too dark, fair point. We looked at porcelain but they seem to mark badly. I just want white and glossy on the walls and now I am too confused as to the floor tiles ...
I hate having stuff done to the house“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
re Nectar
I was wondering why everyone before the weekend was getting their 1000 points added for spending 500 points at Argos in August and mine did not seem to be showing.
so I looked back on my past transactions - you can only go back a month now which is annoying if ever they say to you wait 28 days don't. as it may be too late
I found the date the Argos 500 nectar points went out and straight next to it was the 1000 bonus going in - very confusing, have they just slotted these points in and back dated them , sure they were not there before, my totals are no different - is this the same on everyones nectar account?
OHs 900 points from 31/08 still def MIA so I've got a number to ring when he gets back.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Quarter circle won't take up much room but also feels quite clostraphobic when you are in it. Depending where your shower head goes, the larger person may find it a bit of a squeeze!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Exactly what happened to me. The points slotted back in to the transaction date, but clicking on them showed me they had been added much later.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. glad its not just me going crackers then - I imagine that they will get loads of calls and live chats esp as we get closer to 17/09 and people don't realise the points have gone on but been backdated.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Its a very small shower as it is, I was hoping that a quadrant would at least feel a bit bigger.
OH says its not an issue, people just come in and shut the bathroom door so a pivot door is not an issue - but life is never that simple. The last person to shower will inevitable leave the shower door open but shut the bathroom behind them and then the 2 will slam.
I think I am going to have to put up with sliding doors
at least the enclosures are not clear glass rather than the nasty rippled plastic we have now“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove.
