Hello emmap, u ok sweetie :)
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Can you please hang on to it for about another week or so :o:p I'm also heading north to do some work next week. Not to the dizzy heights of where you are sadly :( only as far as Edinburgh
  • OMG Tiny - that reminds me of when my mum and dad 1st went abroad, to Spain. They were both teetotal and were persuaded to order a jug of Sangria at a beach front cafe/bar. They really enjoyed this fruit drink:D and decided it definitely didn't have any alcohol in it & was just a fruit drink, so they ordered another.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

When they got up from the table they realised their legs were more than a bit wobbly & to add insult to injury they couldn't remember what hotel they were staying in. Thankfully about 2 hrs later they bumped into a couple who they'd been talking to the previous night in their hotel. They didn't have another glass.

I also remember taking them to a nightclub near here with my boyfriend at the time, as a big act was on (can't remember who - Bassey maybe?) who they wanted to see. Dad had 1/2pt of lemonade shandy & mum had an orange juice. I had a pernod & lemonade. Both of them LOVED the smell of my drink so I assured them it was non-alcoholic & ordered them a pair. They enjoyed it so they ended up having just one more. It was Christmas Eve and when we got home they were concerned about getting the Turkey ready for the oven. I went to bed & they were trying to stuff the turkey via the neck end, giggling like children.

Both really frowned on alcohol consumption by me so I never admitted to plying them with any alcohol. Shame on me!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

All this talk of wrong tables abroad has reminded me of a funny story :D

OH and I visited Porto about 12 years ago. You know when you go out to eat in almost any European country (except here!) you get complimentary nibbles on the table whilst you are browsing the menu? Sometimes it's bread, sometimes it's olives, sometimes various other snacky things.....
We went into this restaurant in Porto and had a huge plate of very nice salad put in front of us whilst we were looking at the menu. I'm sat there thinking 'bloody hell......that's generous' so whilst I'm nibbling away and discussing food options with my OH, a lady on the next table called a waiter over and was talking to him in Portuguese.

There's no language barrier when it comes to complaints :rotfl::rotfl:

He turned round and looked at our table with a really worried look on his face and I realised we were eating her dinner :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
