You can renew your passport 9 months before its due - the 9 months is added onto your new passport.
I renewed mine recently. After reading all the horror stories about the lengthy delays I thought I'd get it done well in advance of expiry; I posted it while I was away on 'secret business':p on a Thursday, got a text message on the Saturday from Passport Office to say all the paper work had arrived, and new passport was waiting for me on the Monday when I got back home - five days from start to finish ... pleasantly surprised and very impressed:)

CJJ all i can say is do your best and be yourself :D
Do NOT be too disappointed if this one slips you by, it was obviously not mant to be and the right one WILL be there for you xx
LS hope you get on ok Monday xx
cjj - maybe you should hire PD to make you a cake & let them eat it? That might well be a bit too much though. You could talk about glitch shopping but if their eyes glaze over then quickly stop.
On third thoughts - just be yourself & just before you go thank everyone for putting up with you so well, just a very quick thanks, try to make them smile.

If it was meant to be, it will be, if not something else will come along. You've done SO well getting a trial at first try and also done so well getting your qualification in advance, that will make them know how serious you are about getting the job.

Good luck & I hope that the people you'll be working with are lovely.

Thanks both of you. Got my outfit sorted. Have had to buy black trousers and a school blouse lol as I didn't have any to wear xx
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.
  • Hi,
    BB...I missed you :A
I have done a good thing today....I offered my glasses to the clever robot on sloppytights cos he needs them more than me.i helpfully marked my sloppy buys for him and he still couldnt see them, even after 8 goes.i did think he had early onset dementia as we were strolling hand in hand theough morries, as he kept forgetting the stuff on his listthen he forgot how much he owed me.so I told him to go away and switch off for awhile...and id fone him later....sometimes hes just too popular for his own good :D:
People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with :)

    LOVE ME, LOVE MY NEWFOUNDLAND.:A

We went on the open top bus tour which included a stop at the Nou Camp, but didn't really get to see it properly. It's on the list of places we'd like to revisit and spend some more time at. One day.

Several years ago when we stayed in Malgrat, we went on a day trip to Barcelona. Such a beautiful place, I'd love to actually stay there and spend time sight seeing.

Best bar in Barcelona is Bar Parnasse, on Calle D'En Dignas (near waterfront), they serve a mean absinthe:beer:
Atmospheric eaterie is Els Quatre Gats, a favourite of Picasso.
The Aquarium is good, particularly if you have had a late night before:o
The National Art Museum of Catalonia, on Montjuic, is stunning one of the best museums in the world IMHO ... if you're into art and architecture it's a must-see; spend the afternoon there, and then watch the Magic Fountain display in the evening

And in between the fountain display there's a street dance crew entertaining the crowds - super-talented too, makes all the UK talent-show street dancers look like heavy-footed amateurs.
(Apologies for long post ... but got lots more Barcelona recommendations for anyone who wants them:)|)

Hi MKS, hope all is well with you :) We stayed at Tamarit, just outside Tarragona..
Tarragona is a lovely town, great to spend a day there (we did it by train from Barcelona), full of history, good shops, bars & restaurants - particularly good bar right in front of the cathedral, where we spent a relaxing sun-soaked afternoon:)

    Evening

Hope everyone is well. I've been MIA since yesterday morning. I've had a terrible couple of down days :(:o and thought it best not to inflict myself on folk.

I've got the inevitable dread at having to go for the bone marrow thingy on Monday. Not just the procedure, but the why was bothering me. That was compounded by receiving some forms in the post to go for yet more blood tests :( So I did ring up because I really wasn't expecting any of this to happen. I had accepted my 2 months of getting used to my diagnosis and getting myself ready for an appointment in October. The blood forms had also been happy stamped all over by an over zealous person with an 'urgent' stamp and a shiny new red ink pad

It seems the bloods I had taken at the last 'big' appointment were sent to a research hospital in Manchester. They do tests way beyond my understanding to do with genetics and chromosomes and stuff. These are designed to sort of pre-empt how the disease will progress and identify markers than can indicate if people might benefit from earlier treatment.

So yes, I've struggled the last couple of days and have felt terribly down and even desperate at some points :o My OH has been here today and it was good to talk to someone 'out loud' about it :A other than that there are some other :A:A:A who put up with me moaning and being a drama queen. Fear is a really horrible emotion to cope with
