DD called me last night very worried. Fiance has had a problem with his ear for some months as it is slightly painful and weeps. He went to dr finally a few weeks ago and went to ent specialist yesterday. He has been told his ear is collapsing inside and he has to go for a brain scan. I looked it up and it seems to be Cholesteatoma which is where the skin in the ear overgrows and causes the middle ear to collapse. It seems to be a surgical approach is needed and the brain scan is to check it has not gone in further.
Very worrying time especially as weddin is only 3 weeks today.
Has anyone any experience of this?p
Cholesteatoma is a benign middle ear condition. Hopefully, they've given him some meds to dry the ear up. When they get the results of the scan, they'll get him in for an appointment and go through his surgical options. The CT scan is to see how deep it goes and gives them the best idea of how to proceed surgically.m
I used to work for the top ear consultants in the south west. Thanks for the new thread M4RTIN
Good afternoon all, just popping in to say hello. I am back home for the weekend to pick up some clothes, see DH and then back to mums again.....well staying with DS2 who lives near her.....thank you so much for all the support I have received both by pm and on here, you lot are amazing.
Just an update, DM goes into hospital on Thursday for her operation so we just have to wait and see how it goes. She is very frail but she is handling it so well.
Anyway, I have lurked from time to time (can't keep away) and I see louise has cleared the shelves of my local As.....pity I wasn't about we could have met up. I hope you have enjoyed your time here louise :T GY store usually doesn't stock all the rtc stuff that the others do so you were lucky :T.

Thanks Louise. Such a shame we couldn't meet up but maybe next time? I have just been into As to get a few bits (just muggle). Did look at candles but couldn't see the ones that are rtc. Have a safe journey home....
