On Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September 2015 over 100 YHA hostels will be throwing their doors open to welcome one and all on YHA Day.
We've planned a variety of exciting events at our regional flagship Youth Hostels to showcase the awesome activities available in several areas. As this is the third year running you can expect all the best bits from our previous YHA Days including BBQs, live music, delicious cakes and summer fetes.
We've also got nine pop-up charity shops selling treasures from our lost property with all proceeds going to Breaks for Kids. Old socks and thread bare tops this ain't - we've roped in local fashion design students, tapped into the upcycling trend and gratefully received goods from guests who'd run out of suitcase space. Prepare to bargain hunt and grab a preloved garment or two.
YHA Day is our chance to say thanks - both to local communities and to all our supporters. There'll be a warm welcome offered everywhere and an open invitation to explore many of our remarkable hostel buildings and their grounds.

there are some London ones but most seem to be quite rural - very good if you need a nice drive and were curious as to what the new fangled ultra modern hostels look like now - you will be wowed!
also this link gives you a code for 20% off bookings if you book this weekend

Naebbirac so embarrassed I missed this earlier.
So sorry to hear your sad news, my thoughts are with you and your family. The pain of losing a loved one is hard but knowing they are no longer suffering eases the pain. I hope you manage to secure an earlier flight. Much love xxx0 -
Hope all went well at the hospital Nanny.

I have been reading backwards so read your later post first, don't panic Louise. Not quite the same but few years ago my OH was made half redundant, huge drop in income but belonging to this forum helped us loads I still managed to stay home to look after my mum. There are always new ways to keep moving forward and I'm sure your family will work through it. Take care x0 -
