My mates a handyman for a big building firm, and with his 'every other' Friday off, and his normal holidays, he get 62 days a year :eek:

nice to know the 30 odd years of working through the holidays taking kids on holidays,doing courses for them and weekend and after school activites is appreciated by parents.:(

teaching is the same as any other job theres good,bad and indifferant in it sadly,but i'm proud of my oh who was one of the good ones,shame you have only encountered the bad ones.:(

I used to think that schools were empty over the holidays until we started doing some work for a local (private) school. It is so busy, with everyone getting stuff done that they can't get done when the kids are around (including us, have you ever tried putting in an overhead line with kids trying to help lol). I now know how much the teachers and caretakers do over the holidays :eek:
