It took about a year to get probate through for my father's will, no idea why as no longer talking to my brother:(What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Evening
Sounds like probate hasn't been granted yet. If that is the case then the solicitor can't disclose anything from the will to anyone except the executors or with the executors permission. So no, the solicitor wouldn't be able to disclose anything without first asking the executors. I'm assuming when you mentioned next to kin that's what you meant? As executors are not always next to kin/family.
Best bet is to apply for a standing search. This is valid for 6 months and means if probate is granted in that 6 months then a copy of the will is issued. Doesn't cost much....£10 I think. HTH
And sorry if it's already been answered. I've not looked back properly
Edit: Just thought.....Its possible the solicitor themselves are the executor. It wouldn't make a difference though. They can only make disclosures before probate is granted in the event of a dispute0 -

Just tying to plan ahead knowing I no longer have an income. Figured better off getting a few things here and there so I don't feel too stressed closer to the time ☺
Dawnylou if I were you I wouldn't worry about Xmas just yet, it's still a long way off in terms of circumstance, things could dramatically change by then:) trust me as a house hold we have had many times where we've struggled but come out of the other side smiling.
I'd concentrate on food... Stocking up on things at a good price, you still need feeding between now and Christmas and you can't eat smellies;) even over priced pretty boxed ones.
The pork loin in @ is a good price at the moment if you have room in your freezer and a few apg's to use up. We've just had some for tea
and even better it showed as n/a for my instore shop on Friday.

I'm sorry, all I seem to do on here is moan at the moment. Feeling really low at the moment.
Didn't sleep, burst into floods of tears when kids came in for a zilch. Energy levels zilch, literally struggling to get out of bed. Dr is arranging blood tests, hopefully they'll be done tomorrow.
Three weeks post op today and feel so down.
Good evening LS you moan all you like :Ait does you good to get it off your chest also a good cry never did anyone any harm...it's times like this even though you have the children it's not quite the same as having a partner to put their arm around you and tell you it will be okay and even bring you a nice :coffee: so Nannylala has made you one..hope you start to feel a little better very soon x0 -
