It is possible to make a living by winning all this. More money that you would have if you had worked full time on minimum wage for a month.

Only if £10k wins fall in your lap every month!2017 wins = £1350
2016 wins = £125 (18 months off comps)
2015 wins = £6,460
2014 wins = £1,3500 -
The thing is a wage is guaranteed if your working, a win of £10000 is not.
Yes it's possible to win large amounts of money, but those competitions are extremely popular and will have lots and lots of entries and so your odds of winning are a lot less than say the chance of winning a DVD.
Lets face it a dvd won't pay your bills or put food on the table, and you've been comping for more than a year now CaptainJack and you haven't won such a vast amount, so if its so attainable then the question would be why not?You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

most months I've won products worth around £100 in total if bought from newe - wouldn't get more than £20 reselling so no you can't replace a full time job from comping , unless you do something like work in the industry a la Di Cokeproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

Ive won a few cash prizes. £10,000 is good for a newbie. My ITV dream might be telling me something though.0

If every competition had a cash alternative then yes, but unless you got very lucky and won a big ITV type comp once a year then I'd say it was pretty much impossible. I keep a list of my prizes and their approximate value, and while the total would be enough to live on, turning it into cash is very difficult. Even if you sold everything you won on eBay you'd get a fraction of their worth. A book with an RRP of £25 might get you a couple of quid after you've paid postage etc.
Then there are those valuable prizes such as an exotic holiday worth several thousand pounds, a great prize, but you can't convert it to cash to pay the bills, you'd probably end up spending even more money because you'd won the holiday.
I've been comping for 15 years, I've always entered a lot and have only won one large cash prize (£5k from Real Deal) I've won some brilliant stuff over the years but I certainly couldn't live off it.
I think comping is a great way to save money. Every bottle of shampoo you win is one you don't have to buy, and it's nice at Christmas to have a few presents ready, but it's not a way to make a living.0
