Strong pound doesn't help, cheap imports from China don't either but biggest hindrance is electricity costs as a result of the carbon floor (green) tariff
A case of nationalisation? A case for tracking and cheap energy? A case for abolishing silly green energy taxes?
What say yee socialists? 30000 jobs to go
What would the snp do if s!!!!horpe was in Scotland?

30000 was mentioned on the news I think: that was the multiplier thing as subbies etc go under along with contractors and the buttie shops etc. 5000 direct jobs though I think I heard
Either way, forget the exact number - it's the principle I'm interested in finding others views onLeft is never right but I always am.0 -
it's obviously a confirmed scientific fact, that outsourcing your CO2 production over seas, reduces global warming as poor countries are poorer than rich countries so CO2 production doesn't count.0

yes, I guess that may be true and it doesn't reduce warming gases but it does allow the vain EU leaders from grandstanding about their environmental credentials0 -

British Steel + Hoogovens = Corus, which became Tata Steel Europe, after being acquired by Tata Steel of Mumbai, which itself is part of the Tata Group, although it has its own market listing.
TSE has been trying to sell its long products business (RSJs and similar generic chunks of steel). Long products is Scu nthorpe, which is where the redundancies are focused.
Here is a list of TSE operations

TBH this seems like a whinge about manufacturers not being subsidised enough rather than Britain being a poor place to do business.0
