Hi all,
Can anyone help me with info about the above company, I've a salesman arriving this afternoon. All seems good in theory but I don't want to make a big mistake

Not familiar with the company but whatever you do, don't sign up to anything today. Give it a few days, post on here the offer and do some research. If they use pressure selling tactics like offering discounts available for 'today only' then run away.0

If it's the usual sort of scam, they'll be trying to sell you a system at a price way over what you could get by shopping around, will grossly inflate the savings you might make, will offer you a loan at an extremely uncompetitive rate such that your actual savings won't cover the loan repayments ! Just glance through this section of the MSE forum for similar headings.mrsBagpuss wrote: »Hi all,

Suggest you get a few quotes and ask your mortgage provider about an 'additional advance for home improvements' to pay or it. Compare any (alleged) 'self-funding' proposals with that.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
Thank you both for your replies, salesman will be arriving any second. I shall listen carefully and compare and look into self funding.0

Please tell us how it went, what price they quoted, and what the financing rates are. Cheers.
BTW I responded on your other thread.

Sorry I realise I have the same thread in two places. Doh! Quick rundown of price on other thread. Would be interested in any help/ advice
It's me not posting in the right place to begin with......I just lose the plot0 -
This is what I did.
A similar sales person quoted me 9k for a 3.5kwp system. I said I know the cost of a solar panel and equipment and have been quoted 4 to 6k. What he said was since it was funded they had to make a profit.. but 3k for a few years that's heck of a lot.

If you can afford to fund it yourself then please look into it. No need to rush(just yet) as the FiT won't drop again until Oct 1st.
You could probably get 12 x 330Wp benQ panels for around the £6500 mark.
Are you sure that you can only fit 12 panels? Did they measure the roof? Or just have a look up at it and make a best guess?
Get more quotes, IF you could get 16 panels on your roof then a system is doable for around £5k, my mate is having his installed at the mo and has cost him £4900 with an energy monitor thrown in(geo solar 2)

Definitely going to look at raising cash myself and getting a few more quotes.... didn't realise it was going to be such a minefield my head is reeling with all the information0

Not what I was expecting at all, the person who explained it to me originally said it was free fitting and funded by the electricity I've generated.
Thanks for posting info, always nice to know what the naughty boys (and girls?) are up to. No big surprises on prices, loans and deals.
It's always the 'B' bank. One might think they have no morals.
Check out this site's loans pages (Cards and loans tab top of page) you'll find best deals of £3k to £5k at 4.6% and £5k to £7k at 4.3%.
Based on a 3kWp system, south facing roof with no shading, you'll probably earn/save a total of about £500 to £600pa. If you are happy to give a rough location (nearest city) we can give a better breakdown of guesstimated earnings. Also, if you give a location others may be able to suggest installers.
First things first, you need some more quotes, and do some background reading on PV. Try our PV FAQs then start asking questions.mrsBagpuss wrote: »It's me not posting in the right place to begin with......I just lose the plot
Not true, you still have a firm grip on the plot. You asked for info prior to the meeting. Others ask for advice after the install has taken place and they are out of pocket by thousands. So you did exactly the right thing. You can now learn all about PV, and then decide if it's something you want to take further or not. :T
