Urgent please help with !!!!!! letter recieved

I am currently trying to sort out my debt.
I have been able to sort out a full and and final settlment figure for my egg card which is being handled by DLC.
The balance is 2101.24
I have been able to reduce this ammount to 1260.74.
They wanted 1600 first but this is the lowest i could get them down to.

They sent me letter which goes like:
Further to our conversation this afternoon i am writing to advise that we will accept £1260.74in full and final settlement of your liability.

Our client reserves the the right to pursue any other borrowers for the remaining balance.

We look forward to recieving your remittance by 20.08/2007.

The part i am worried about is the "Our client reserves the the right to pursue any other borrowers for the remaining balance." part of the letter does this mean that they can come back to me in a few yers time to get the rest of the money. I have the cash ready to pay but is there anything else i need to because i dont really trust them so i got it in writing.

Please help

Thank you.

I'd assume that 'other borrowers' would mean a second card holder. As far as you are concerned, its full and final so they can't come back to you. If you have a partner who has a card in their name for the same account then you need to ensure that the f&fs agreement covers you both. Also, after settlement ensure your credit record is updated to show that the debt has been settled.

No don't accept this. This means they can chase the debt later via another DC. Make sure the letter says that the debt is satisfied and they will amend your credit file as such.
