  • I'm 36, have had an arthroscopy and cartilage spur removal on my right knee, and I still run. :)

    OP, just run ;)

No was just checking as know with my age now I still can run great and for good amounts and did a HITT on the treadmill but scared with me being an older man that I could have a heart attack or something bad happen with me being 30 now. I still feel I have the power to do it but surely some age is bad to carry on?

If you didn't think you were going to drop dead from an exercise induced heart attack at 29, why would it suddenly happen now you're 30?
And being 30 does not make you 'an older man'! God what a depressing thought

(Unless you live in a Logan's run type society, in which case stop exercising immediately, the authorities will be coming for you soon)

If you have serious concerns about risk of heart problems then I'd say you're best off seeing your GP before you go any further with exercise, but if your concerns are purely down to being 30 then youve nothing to worry about.

To give it context, Steve Redgrave won his last Olympic gold at 38 and in his rowing hed be far far FAR exceeding any level of exertion that you'll reach doing HIIT on a treadmill..

Nick Easter will be playing in this year's rugby world cup. He's 36.

    What is HITT?
