Decision made!

I had my phone appointment today with CCCS.

I am going to go down the BR route as making affordable payment arrangements with my creditors, would mean I was paying them off for at least 9 yrs!

Can anyone answer a couple of things for me. The lovely woman at CCCS wasnt 100% sure whether BR would affect building society accounts that are in Trust for my 2 kids and which have been open since they were babies. These accounts are with one of my creditors!! I am the only person who can access the money. She did suggest that I move the money away to accounts for my kids at another building society which is what I will do, but would the OR want to get his sticky mitts on them??

Also I rent my home privately, and she said that the OR would automatically contact the letting agents to check the amount of rent that I pay. I have looked through my rental agreement briefly to check there is nothing in there about not being able to rent if i am BR. So will the OR contact them, I would obviously prefer them not to know. I am up to date with the rent, have been here for 7 years and am a good tenant!

I have now just got to cancel all the direct debits to my creditors, and ring the courts and get a date to attend.

I am glad to have made a decision! Will be glad when its all over!

Hi Liberty - I'm not sure about the Building Society 'Trust' accounts, but would CERTAINLY consider moving them, as per CCCS advice. Hopefully someone has had this same problem and will be able to advise.
    Hope your BR goes well.

I had a Nationwide account for my daughter, it didnt have much money in it, I put it on my BR form, took her book to the court with my papers. When I had my initial interview with the ORs clerk she handed it back to me saying that the OR wouldn't be interested in it as it was my daughters account even though it had my name on it (Smart2Save account only available to children).

    Hope this helps
Went BR 25th May 2007 at 12.33, OR Interview now done. BSC No 88
