Can Fixed Rate Mortgage Fee's be reclaimed?

I have a repayment mortgage with the Nationwide and have been with them for 7 years. In that time I have paid about £350 on 2 separate occasions (about £700 in total) when I decided to take a FIXED RATE product rather than their own rate.
Can these charges be reclaimed? Surely they are just as obscene as overdraft charges etc!
