Just catching up on a fondant show, mans the Aeropress has had good reviews for the price. I particularly like the fact that it can be cleaned under a tap with every use (I live in a hardwater area and am constantly battling limescale :o).

I regularly buy coffee from coffee shops, although I'm not a fan of expresso I believe it's the foundation of most coffees, the variables being the quantity of water and milk added. I could drink latte all day, which is essentially the reason I'd like to try the Aeropress. However I don't want to waste my time and money if the coffee is not to my liking.

I don't particularly like filter coffee either if that's any help? (I find it disgustingly bitter). Is it worth me buying the Aeropress, or am I better off sticking to my kettle and jar of instant Douwe Egberts?

The aeropress won't make that much different to the taste of the coffee. Buy a good quality coffee that is to your taste. Just like wine there are a lot of different varieties of coffee and it tastes different depending on roasting and country grown in. Find what you like and you won't go wrong.
  • Gave my ENA 1 to a relative (long story) just after Christmas. Finally got round to replacing it at the weekend.

Despite many misgiving and the fact I won't be using the milk facility (too many guests whinge about not having it) I got a Jura Impressa A9 from John Lewis. First thing that "annoyed" (swapped out rude word!) me was that it didn't come with a milk caddy despite the price. Had to spend and extra £60 to get one. Basic coffee is like with the Ena 1 excellent.... milk drinks less so. Basically unless you go to the trouble of pre-heating the cups the milk based drinks aren't that hot. Also as I originally said cleaning the milk bits is a PITA.

For milk might be easier to buy a Nespresso Aeroccino for £50, easier to clean than the machine.
