Hi all,
Has anyone got any experience in dealing with Handelsbanken. I was at a networking event and their name came up as a bank that offered a tailored approach and "open for business" which I am told is looking to increase their mortgage book.
I have asked a couple of times on here before about mortgage advice - I am high income main breadwinner, renting, salary £90k with no debt and 10% deposit. Wife is housewife and have 3 kids. Looking to buy at circa £300k level.
Their approach is to go direct but after reading the multitude of horror stories on here i am more and more convinced that the broker route is the way to go.

Been around for many years. Well established and respected. Still conduct banking business in an old fashioned traditional relationship style. There's no harm in asking what products they have to offer. Though one suspects their target market is high net worth individuals when it comes to personal banking. .0

Don't rely on a lender to deliver against a 'marketing line'.
They will all be 'open for business' tomorrow at 9am.I am a Mortgage Broker

I regularly use Handelsbanken for their flexible underwriting approach. However, if your mortgage requirement is fairly straightforward, a High Street bank will without doubt offer lower interest rates and lender's fees.0

I approached them for business banking last year. Very helpful/great customer service....but they were looking for assets of £1m+ (we were just under this).
They gave me an indicative interest rate for a commercial mortgage we were after, which was OK, but not great.....3.9% on £300k....we eventually went with Lloyds for 3.3%.
Overall though, very impressed with them, and once we're a bit bigger, I will approach them again.0
