  • Evening all :j

Sorry for not posting sooner, just got in from doing the garden (9 pm!!!!!!!) and I'm absolutely SHATTERED. (good exercise though I hope!)

I'm inbetween the washing now (ah, the joys of Friday night when you're 33  ) and I'm having a very well earned beer (oops forgot to get weighed!!!) so I haven't had chance to read all the replies properly yet. Thing that really stood out though was freezing portions - this sounds good as I could make up two lots of something, one veggie and one normal, and freeze them into portions.

Dummy question time, sorry  What do I freeze them in? I've seen these little foil containers in the £ shop but if I use those I can't chuck them in the microwave to reheat - should I get some plastic ones?

Thank you all SO much for all your help!!! OH is still highly skeptical as to how we can make this work but I'm determined!!!

  • You can freeze any liquid, including soup, in plastic milk cartons. When I make soup I store it in the fridge door and pour out what's needed as and when. You will find that gradually you'll build up a collection of suitable plastic containers - large margerine tubs, ice cream tubs etc., without buying specially made plastic containers. Another alternative is to cut the tops off milk cartons, if you see what I mean, so you have just the part without the handle pouring bit - you can freeze stuff in there - cover with cling film. Before recycling any plastic container, inspect it for freezing potential !

  • Aaargh. Sorry for not posting for so long :(

I've come to the conclusion that I don't actually want to take on any more around this house. I already do absolutely everything, every single bit of housework, so I can't face taking on any more.

Sorry everyone. I feel incredibly fed up this morning and I'm thinking more and more often that I'd be better on my own, honestly. Sorry :(
