Prepare for bizarre and bloodcurdling goings on as Warner Home Video unleashes the wrath of supernatural thriller The Reaping on DVD from 20th August 2007, starring Academy Award winner Hilary Swank, as she treads the thin line between faith and superstition - win horror DVDs!
After losing her husband and daughter in a tragic incident in Sudan, Katherine Walker (Swank - Million Dollar Baby, Boys Don’t Cry) has turned her back on religion in favour of hard scientific fact. Choosing to make her life’s work travelling the world and disproving so-called unexplained miracles, she now believes there is a reasonable, rational and scientific explanation for all supernatural phenomenas.
Deep in the heart of the Louisiana swamplands, a river has turned blood red and the fanatical townsfolk claim they are the victims of the ten Biblical plagues. The local school teacher Doug Blackwell (David Morrissey – Cape Wrath, , Basic Instinct 2) seeks the help of Katherine and her partner Ben (Idris Elba – The Wire, 28 Days Later), when the sinister happenings are thought to be the Wrath of God.
When the target of the witch-hunt is a young 12-year-old girl (AnnaSophia Robb - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Because of Winn-Dixie) and her life is threatened, it’s Katherine’s job to debunk the creepy theories and explain the spine-chilling comings. However, she soon learns the treacherous side of small town mentality and that not all miracles can be explained!
