Please can anybody identify this gadget?

My son was lucky enough to win a Braun Turbo handblender on Freecycle. It came with this, but neither of us can figure out what it is or how it fits?

Does anyone know what it is, please?

I think it may be part of a chopping attachment. I think there should be a plastic bowl around the metal bit and a plastic lid that fits into the handle. I don't think this particular part of the hand blender is usable in this state, but hopefully the rest of it is!

It does look like some bits are missing, and it looks like a mini chopper to me too.

Thanks - I've been super busy with one thing and another.

I've done more searching, and found that it's an ice crusher! We do have the jug upon which it sits, and the lid, so it will work. My life is too short for such a thing, so unless my son wants it in his hall of residence, away it goes ...................

Ah...an ice crusher! Thanks for updating. He may indeed want that in a hall residence given the recent popularity of cocktails!
