Lender reduced monthly payment after overpayment within allowance

    Did you tell them you wanted to keep your monthly payment the same?

    If not, they'd automatically amend your monthly payment after a significant change to the mortgage, such as a part repayment. It's the interest rate that's fixed, not the monthly payment.

    Just ask them to amend the monthly payment back to the previous figure, if that's what you want, and don't forget the give them full instructions next time you make a part repayment.
